I have been on a fitness journey this past year and have been wanting to share a lot of my insights and adventures with you all. I feel like the time is right and want to get some useful tips in your hands right off the bat.

Without further ado… Here are my 5 TOP FAT LOSS TIPS:

1. Protein.
Eat enough of it. You don’t have to go overboard but protein is very satiating and adequate amounts will keep you from feeling hungry later while also providing your body with the building blocks to maintain muscle. Don’t worry about being too precise or exact in measurements. Just try to get at least as much protein as carbs if not more.

2. Veggies.
LOTS of them! You cannot possibly eat enough of them. Veggies at every meal will give you a lot of food at very little caloric value, fiber, and tons of nutrients. Breakfast, lunch, dinner… veggies, veggies, veggies! A bag of frozen veggies takes like 4 min in the microwave. Add some protein and boom: a meal! Get funky with the spice rack if you feel adventurous!

3. Hydrate.
Lots of water. Feeling hungry? Drink a glass of water and wait ten minutes. Still hungry? Eat. Drink water with meals and sip while you exercise. No liquid calories and no chemical sh*t storms (aka diet drinks).

4. Sleep.
Let me be real with you… Make this a priority in your life NOW. I know… I know… we all have excuses. Heck, I have a toddler. I get it. But turn the phone/tv/tablet off for an hour before bed. Read a book (or use a bluelight blocking app at least) and try to get 8-10 hours of quality sleep. Pitch black room, no lights. The science is solid and my personal experience backs it up. Sleep well and your body will do AMAZING things!

5. Lift weights.
You had to know I’d bring this one up ūüėČ Building muscle makes the metabolic engine burn hotter. Find heavy things and pick them up and put them down. It doesn’t have to be complicated. Get stronger.

You might make mistakes or overindulge this holiday season and THAT’S OK! Make a habit out of excellence and roll with the punches. A mistake or two will not derail a train fueled with consistency and effort. Stressing about a mistake is the WORST mistake!
